Beach July 4th

Some friends from church invited us to grill out and watch fireworks on the beach Sunday evening.  We had a great time!  Ivory had a blast with all the kids, the few days old cockerspaniel puppies (that alas I forgot to photograph!), and her Bobo, Cassie, and MikeMike.

So glad to have my sweetheart home for the 4th of July celebrations.
We've all voted and have decided Cassie will not be allowed to leave in August to student teach in Texas.  Sorry, Christina.  Too bad Cassie's one vote trumps the rest of us.  *sigh*
I am *so* in love with my little man.

The kids had a blast setting off fireworks along with the bazillion other people setting them off all along the beach.  Ivory was excited, but a little overwhelmed.  Micah was much more unsettled this night then the previous night.

Both our kids were crashing before the actual fireworks display began, so we headed home a little early.  I'm glad it worked out to see them the night before so we didn't feel like we "missed out" on the fireworks this year.  Micah slept peacefully through the fireworks Saturday night, but he only wanted mommy and was pretty unsettled (which really just means squirmy) with all the action going on around us.  Ivory was just plain wore out and overwhelmed from all the excitement and late nights of the last 3 days.  But, in spite of this we had a really great time and were grateful to be with our church family and dear friends.
