July 4th

Saturday we meandered our way around the PC shopping centers. We were suit hunting for Jason (he doesn't have even one) as his ordination is next weekend and some generous friends & family have offered to buy him one so he will look spiffy (as if he needs a suit for that! ;-). Unfortunately, after a full, long day of shopping we could not find even one to fit him. We'll probably find our way to a Men's Wearhouse in the next week and see if we have any luck there. We did, however, come home with a pair of reefs for Jason. You see, J likes to wear them into the ground, like literally feeling the ground through the holes. I had bought him a pair for Christmas, but alas a neighborhood dog (we assume) ran off with 1 shoe when the pair was left on the porch one evening. Soooo, he's been wearing his old pair since. Thankfully, we finally found a pair that is hole-less and comfy.
Ivory had a blast seeing all the people, receiving plenty of smiles & hellos, and meeting a friendly neighborhood giraffe near the pier.

As well as a monkey that plays peek-a-boo--a favorite game of hers.

View of pc beach from the pier.

A quick little 4th of July dress I threw together last minute. Full skirts (dresses) really work much better then straight skirts on little ones. Oh well. She at least looked patriotic. She did have a cute red bow in, but as the day lengthened she grew tired of it and decided to chew & dispose of it. Yes, I did rescue it, but assumed she must want a break.

As you can see, you she also enjoyed meeting a friendly neighborhood shark at Guy Harvey's.
Although the day did not end with our family watching fireworks, as I love, it ended with some great baby snuggles in bed as I heard them going off all around our little home. Ivory was so exhausted she didn't even flinch, even though they were rather loud. I guess she will enjoy them next year when she's able to stay awake a little longer. I sure enjoyed family snuggles--those can't be beat! Thank you to our brave soldiers who defend us at the cost of their personal comfort and time with their families. God bless your service.

Thanks, girl! We are having a great, but super busy time. I'm very ready for things to slow down for a while, but am trying to soak up each day and all it brings. We are super blessed!
