Sleeping Baby

Caught this precious shot on our video monitor. It was one of those moments when I really wanted to sneak in and capture a picture of my sweet, sleeping baby so cutely posed. But, the risk of waking a napping baby...well, it just wasn't worth it. This will have to satisfy.

The Amazing Book

The kids did an AMAZING job Sunday morning presenting their program, The Amazing Book. It was an incredible presentation with lots of facts about the Bible. They quoted the books of the Bible by category (Law, History, Poetry, Major Prophets, Minor Prophets, Gospels, History, Pauline Epistles, General Epistles, Prophecy) as well as singing all 66 of them. They quoted Scriptures, presented the gospel, and were so enthusiastic.

Mrs. Robin, our pastor's wife, Ivory's beloved Bobo, and the fearless leader of the children's ministry of 80+ kids at our church, always does an incredible job directing the kid's programs. Another reason we are so blessed to have them in our church and our lives.


Well, the preschoolers, of course, were not left out! Here's some pictures of our precious little one with her class "singing" some songs at the beginning of the program.

And if you're an extremely dedicated Ivory follower...or you're just bored, here's poor quality, shaky video of the two songs the preschoolers sang.  Oh, and Ivory actually wiggled/danced on stage this time!!  She even tried a hand motion or two...majorly delayed.  =)

Pink Toes

Ivory was very excited about matching pink toes with mommy.  Her cuteness, excitement, exuberance and slight begging even convinced Mom to paint her fingers, too.  It was one of those moments when I was really glad I stopped and spent those extra 15 minutes with my daughter.  It was  a precious evening with lots of cute talks and prayers.  Prayers including gratefulness for MikeMike, Bobo, Cassie, Nina, Meme, Poppa, pee-pee (Mom, I prayed for pee-pee!  Mom, "yes, pee-pee is good."  Ivory, "Poo-poo is good too!  Thank you God for poo-poo.") and then poo-poo.  How can God not smile when he hears those prayers?  She then continued to go in and out with intelligible to unintelligible prayers.  She's such a cute, pink mess.

Men & Mending

Are there any other ladies out there who's husbands *love* this certain article of clothing so much he'll wear it to it's death...literally? My husband loves these khaki shorts. They show all his loving like a child's dearly loved, dragged through the dirt, snot wiper, night cuddles blankie. I have mended, patched, and reinforced them in 8 different spots. And I looked at them Friday to discover yet another hole. I enjoy serving my husband by mending the clothing he loves...but I do think the days of fixing this clothing item them are soon coming to an end. I am grateful for this "thriftiness", though and will try to mend their tattered relationship...yet again.

Sunday School Party

Last October(ish) Jason stepped out of his position as teacher of the youth Sunday School class to participate in a Crown Financial class led by some precious teachers in our church, Brother Mack & Mrs. Sandie. They are one of the most encouraging, generous, faithful couples I have ever known. If they hadn't opened their mouths with one word I would have been blessed to be in their class by their example alone. However, we did thoroughly enjoy good teachings, though most of the class was discussion and testimony time. We had weekly Scriptures to memorize and daily homework to complete alone and with our spouses. There were 8 of us in the class. It was probably the best Sunday School experience I've ever had. It was the first time Jason and I have ever attended Sunday School together (he's always been teaching). We were extremely challenged by the teachings, refreshed by the fellowship and encouraged by the testimonies. As we have sought to readjust our finances to fit the principles of God's Word and commited to get out of debt, we have seen God miraculously provide again and again and again. Really, we've watched Him do that in our lives for a long time, but we are just seeing it even more abundantly. We are finding more and more freedom to give generously, save carefully, and spend wisely. If you ever get the chance to take the Crown Financial class--do it. It's a lot of work, but worth every minute of the time you'll spend searching God's Word for the 2, 350 verses dealing with how to biblically handle your finances. All that to say, the class ended in January and Brother Mack and Mrs. Sandie have started teaching another class, but being as precious as they are, they haven't forgot about their pilot class. So, yesterday they invited all of us over for a time of eating, fellowship, and testimony sharing. Brother Mike joined us and unfortunately three couldn't make it, but we thouroughly enjoyed the time we had with those who could make it. The kids did a great job entertaining themselves and had great attitudes. I was very proud of them! Ivory entertained herself for some time with magazines and then was even more excited when Mrs. Sandie brought out some children's books. She read to herself for probably more then an hour. Micah was content to play with 2 legos, a spiderman, and Ivory's pink hairbrush. He also did LOTS of crawling, pulling up, cruising, and general climbing. I'm very grateful for the fellowship of believers God has blessed us with in this community and across the world.
