Sitting Up!

Yes, she actually sat up on her own! Okay, so maybe only long enough for me to snap four pictures. And maybe we helped her into this sitting position. But, she sat up unsupported for more then 2 seconds (possibly a minute? okay, maybe closer to 30 seconds). She's getting so strong and capable!

Paparazzo

I have resorted to paparazzi shots (learned that paparazzo is the singular form of paparazzi when I looked this word up on dictionary.com to check the spelling...interesting) to catch Ivory "in action." She was fascintaed with this book Grandma gave her for quite some time. I think we may have an early reader on our hands...and no, I'm not an overly zealous teacher-mother...riiiiiight. It was really quite adorable to watch her entertain herself with this while I worked. Of course, she has been known to enjoy eating books far more then she enjoys reading...can't decide which feature is more like her mother, the eating (not books, of course) or the reading...

Play Time

Baby's First Gift

I discovered I was pregnant with our precious little one the day before I left for Canada to see Debi. Jason and I weren't able to spend much time talking and there was much uncertainty and anxiety mixed in with the joy. I called on time and ended up in tears (yes, emotional pregnant woman) asking him if he even wanted to have a baby. When he told me he had already bought our baby a gift then I knew he was excited about being a daddy. Here is Ivory playing with her gift from daddy for the first time.

I better go...Ivory is getting rather antsy...she's chewing on my arm and making strange noises as I type...

Oh--side note--she knows her name! Apparently between 6 and 9 months babies should begin responding to their name. Well, little Miss Ivory turns her head and looks at us when we (and people she doesn't know well) say her name. Way to go, girl! Pretty soon she'll be responding to Mama & Dada!!!

Ivory loves chewing, well, more like sucking, on celery. She is quite entertained with this while Mom cooks or eats dinner with Dad. Of course, every time I turned the camera on and pointed it her direction she pulled it out...go figure. I did manage to snap a few shots in spite of her camera fascination.
